  1. I'm curious as to how your tuning service works. Do you have a pre-canned map for people to start with, or do you start with their stock map, and then alter it from there?

  2. Am I remembering correctly - your '06 Legacy is a 5EAT? What kind of experience do you have with LGT automatics? (I have an '05 LGT 5EAT Wagon) Mine is an 06 with a 5MT.

  3. Also, if I subscribe, how often could I expect to get updates?

  4. Are the logs from a "stock" car (i.e. no wideband, etc) enough for you to tune the car?

  5. What kinds of runs do you need?

  6. How long would it take to develop different sorts of maps(ie one for fuel economy and one for performance) via log-based tuning?

  7. If I subscribe for, say, 2 months, and then unsubscribe for a while (because I'm happy), and then re-subscribe, can we continue from where we left off, in terms of map development?

  8. Am I right that Ecuflash takes approx 30 minutes per flash?

  9. I assume that an internet subscription lasts for 30 days, not until the end of the month? Or is it easier if I subscribe Jan 1? I know I'm getting an OpenECU cable for Christmas.. If I have some time over the holidays, I'd love to start tuning a little. But, if I only get 7 days for $25 vs. 30 days if I wait until Jan 1....

    • Depends on the customer. If I have one already from a car with similar mods I'll detune it a smidge and have you start with that. If someone comes to me with some good logs already, I'll just use their map.

    • I actually have two customers right now with 5EAT's one is a sedan, the other a wagon.

  • Also, if I subscribe, how often could I expect to get updates?

    • Whenever you send me a log that shows the car needs improvement. Or if you have a complaint that I can work on. Or if you modify your car at all.

  • Are the logs from a "stock" car (i.e. no wideband, etc) enough for you to tune the car?

    • Wideband makes it much much easier. I recommend it. I can only get so close without one. Also, if you have a problem it's easier to troubleshoot with a wideband.

  • What kinds of runs do you need?

    • A multitude always helps. I prefer something with some load on it like 3rd gear. However, if you can only get 2nd, we can work with that. I just have to keep in mind that boost might not be at it's peak in that gear. I prefer them full throttle. It give me a better way of tracking your open closed loop delays.

  • How long would it take to develop different sorts of maps(ie one for fuel economy and one for performance) via log-based tuning?

    • Sometimes we can get the map after just a couple runs. I've done enough toying with the Legacy that it isn't too hard. Obviously a wideband helps a ton.

  • If I subscribe for, say, 2 months, and then unsubscribe for a while (because I'm happy), and then re-subscribe, can we continue from where we left off, in terms of map development?

    • Of course. I keep everything on file.

  • Am I right that Ecuflash takes approx 30 minutes per flash?

    • God no. The first time you download a map it can be about 3-5 minutes. We aren't talking the v1 AP flash time. When uploading, the software only flashes what isn't the same. So sometimes it's only about 10-20 seconds.

    • I track the month from your pay date.
